Lord's Supper

6:00pm

Time6:00pm

LocationMain Auditorium

DescriptionAt the Last Supper Jesus shared a meal with His disciples and then led them in the ancient observance of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, or Passover. Jesus, the Master Teacher, used this opportunity to plant an important memory in His disciples gathered in that upper room. Jesus shared this meal for their benefit and for ours. As Jesus raised the bread and the cup in thanksgiving, He added new significance to this ancient ritual. Luke 22 records that Jesus told His disciples to observe the Passover "in remembrance of me."

Jesus took an old symbol and filled it with new meaning. The meaning of Jesus' words and actions is rooted in His command to remember. As today's disciples, we observe the Lord's Supper in remembrance of Christ. Some congregations refer to this ordinance as the Memorial Supper to highlight the significance of Christ's atoning work on the cross and to call believers to remember His sacrificial death. Others call it Communion to highlight the believer's intimacy with Christ. Whatever we call this observance, one thing is clear: It is a time to remember.

Mother's Day with Guest Speaker Jeremy Lynn, Missionary to Ethiopia

10:15am

Time10:15am

LocationMain Auditiorium

DescriptionJeremy Lynn was privileged to grow up in a Christian home. While he was still very young, his parents moved to Florida so his dad could pursue a pastoral degree from Trinity Bible College. During this time, Jeremy had the opportunity to hear the gospel on a weekly basis which led to his salvation on February 2, 1992.

In 1999, God brought Karissa, who was saved at the age of 16 while attending a church service, into Jeremy's life. They were married six months later and shortly after began a family. While both had careers and were pursuing the American dream, God changed their hearts and gave them a desire for cross cultural missions.

Through the study of God’s Word, wise counsel, and friendships at First Coast Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida, God made it clear they should be church planters in the country of Ethiopia. Jeremy has a missions degree from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. Karissa is currently working on a missions degree through Louisiana Baptist University.
They will be working closely with other missionary couples already established in Ethiopia. As BBFI missionaries, Jeremy and Karissa passionately desire to proclaim the hope of Jesus Christ to those who need to hear.
